97.5 miles up and down hills in the rain. Lots of time to think. Here are some of those thoughts:
Why is Broken Arrow, OK so far from
Broken Bow, OK (203 miles per Google Maps)
Much of eastern Oklahoma is the Choctaw Nation. Many of the bridges here are named after WW1 Choctaw Code Talkers. I only knew of the WW2 Navajo Code Talkers.
Rumble strips in the middle of the highway make every vehicle coming by sound like an 18-wheeler.
Rumble strips on the shoulder of the highway suck.
When you turn the Strava app off, it can’t track your distance and stats.
Waterproof shoe covers are ineffective when left in the saddlebags.
My rain jacket isn’t waterproof.
Final stats for the day were 97.5 miles, all
in Oklahoma. 5,034’ of elevation gain. Thanks to Map My Ride, I could determine the elevation and the exact distance traveled despite the glitch with Strava.

impressive stuff!
