There are a few of these I missed yesterday and I didn’t want the moment to pass.
In Oklahoma, the word “electric” is actually a hyphenated word with a heavy accent on the long E sound at the beginning. For example: ”Is dat wunna dem E-lectric bikes?”
Also, in Oklahoma, one of the eastern-most towns in the state is called Westville.
For an animal with 1000 legs, millipedes don’t move very fast. There were several unavoidable vehicular insecticides on the road today.
Armadillo is “panzerschwein” in German. It doesn’t matter. They also don’t move fast. My count is now up to 5 roadkills. No other species has had more than 1 identifiable carcass.
There are more vehicles on US 59 between Sallisaw and Stilwell, Oklahoma than there are people in those towns, combined. There is absolutely nothing in between them for 29 miles. Where do they all go?
Stilwell, Oklahoma is home to Okie Joe’s BBQ. The hot links and sweet tea were delicious. It is also the shameful end of the Trail of Tears for the Choctaw.
I spent 210 miles in Oklahoma. I turned once.
With plenty of time during the day to think about a wide variety of things, my mind continues to come back to the same thing. My ass really hurts!
For safety reasons, I have not had much opportunity to listen to music yet. The highways are just too busy and the shoulders haven’t been consistent.

Hey Jon, this is Gil. Awesome job so far, sounds like you're having an adventure. Regarding your ass hurting , you must have forgotten how worse it's going to get. Hopefully you're slathering up with chamois cream daily.
